An ode to Margarine, Templeton and Lucifer
Six kittens were found on 800 north on the afternoon of Friday, April 18th. On the afternoon of Saturday, April 19th, only three were left and the stray cat mother was no where to be seen. These baby cats needed food, shelter, warmth and a mother (which came in the form of my friends Ali, Anne, Kristen and I). It's my shift to take the "children" tonight. I will experience what Ali, Anne and Kristen have been doing. They have proved to be wonderful parents. They have fed them every two hours since that fateful Saturday afternoon and tried to make these kitten's experience as close to a normal kitten's their age. Even having these guys sleep with a battery powered clock to resemble a mother cat's heartbeat. Tomorrow we take these little guys to the Humane Society. And to Margarine, Templeton and Lucifer we say farewell, goodluck and godspeed.

I eat ice cream for dessert.
Imagine you are at a sit-down restaurant and your friend comes to meet you there. Your friend sits, the waiter (or waitress) promptly comes to your table and asks you what you would like to drink. Your friend quickly replies that they would like a shake. The server looks puzzled. You then ask the server what the list of beverages are to choose from. The server runs through a list of coke or pepsi products and possibly some lemonades. Does the server mention shakes on the list of beverages? NO.

Jaws was never my scene and I don't like Star Wars
This is a story about my bicycle.
It was adopted on October 12th after me and three friends slept over at the Logan DI grand opening (a DI grand opening only happens once in a life-time). At nine o'clock on a Thursday morning, after a restless night.... in a tent....on cement, it was time for the opening ceremonies. The ribbon was cut, the doors were opened and the mass of eager customers who gathered in front of the doors in the morning hours previous to the ribbon cutting rushed in the store. The first thing I did? I scurried to the back of the store where I could see the sports equipment was located. I was looking for one thing and one thing only. A bike. On the rack of two-wheeled vehicles I saw a pretty great looking curvy-handle-barred, skinny- tired, pink bicycle.
And that's when I knew.
The adoption papers were signed right away (aka: the debit card receipt at the check stand) and ever since the Caliente Schwinn has been my most prized possesion. And lucky for me it's April 2nd... you know....warm weather time.....bicycle season.
Queen says it best. Here's to you Caliente Schwinn:
I want to ride my bicycle
I want to ride my bike
I want to ride my bicycle
I want to ride it where I like
